This board of this item is made from PVC foam board which is a lightweight material which is much lighter than wood. We prefer this material as it will cause less damage if dropped or thrown by a child.

Our PVC foam boards are very light weight compared to MDF wood therefore they are very safe for children. We only use water based odour free acrylic paints for the hand painted parts.
